SUPER is funded by the Department of Health Care Services and led by researchers from the University of California, Los Angeles’ Integrated Substance Use and Addiction Programs (UCLA-ISAP) and Azusa Pacific University. UCLA-ISAP is part of the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences in the Division of Addiction Psychiatry.
For over twenty years, UCLA-ISAP’s portfolio has included a wide range of projects related to substance use disorder treatment and prevention, including epidemiological and treatment research, clinical trials, program evaluations, and training.
To develop SUPER, UCLA-ISAP partnered with consultants who have expertise in youth substance use prevention research and program implementation. They are also supported by the SUPER Expert Think Tank, which consists of subject matter experts, policymakers, and youth service providers from across California.
