Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be a nonprofit youth-serving community-based and tribal organization and counties implementing Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Block Grant funded prevention programs operated to do business in California that provide substance use disorder (SUD) prevention programs to adolescent, youth, and/or young adults, including families.
  • Must have an established prevention intervention implemented for a minimum of two years with identified community and/or under-resourced marginalized communities.
  • Organization is physically located in and delivers SUD prevention services in California.
  • Organization staff have demonstrated experience delivering the novel prevention intervention being evaluated.
  • Organization has a willingness and ability to initiate evaluation project data collection and reporting over the course of the project.
  • Organization has the technical capacity to participate in virtual Zoom trainings, Learning Collaboratives, monthly meetings, and ongoing coaching.

Priority will be given to organizations working in under-resourced marginalized communities.

Proposers’ Webinars and Office Hours

UCLA-ISAP staff have scheduled webinars and office hours to review the CSSA Cohort 2.0 funding opportunity and answer questions. Participation in one of the webinars and/or office hours is strongly recommended. The proposers' webinars and office hours dates, times, and registration links will be available on April 17, 2026.
